Privacy
Solvere Labs (“we”) operates solvere.app. This page covers the website and our email alerts, in plain language.
At a glance:
- No accounts, no advertising, no data brokers. We never sell personal data.
- The site sets no first-party cookies. Analytics is cookieless and aggregate.
- Email alerts are strictly opt-in (confirmed by a double-opt-in email), and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
- A few things stay on your device only (theme choice, “already voted” flags) and never reach us.
What we collect#
| Data | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Server logs (IP, browser, page, time, country) | Security, abuse prevention, operations | About two weeks, then deleted |
| Aggregate usage analytics (cookieless) | See what content is useful | Aggregate only; never tied to you |
| Per-page view tallies | The view counter on articles | A number per page, nothing else |
| Your email + topic picks (if you subscribe) | Send only what you asked for | Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete |
| Emails you send us | Answering you | As long as needed |
The full analytics detail (what interactions we count)
We use a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service that reports aggregate counts only: pages viewed, referrers, device class, country, and these interaction events: clicks on subscribe/support/shop/social/contact links, code-block copies, on-site search usage (including the typed term, truncated to 32 characters), filter and theme usage, whether an article was read to the end, “was this helpful” votes, and 404 hits.
None of it is tied to a profile: no cookies, no persistent identifier, no cross-site
tracking, and we cannot single out an individual visitor from it. Short-link clicks
(for example /yt) are counted from ordinary server logs.
Email alerts, in detail
Signing up on /subscribe/ stores your address and the preferences you pick. Nothing is sent until you confirm via the double-opt-in email. Our emails record opens and link clicks so we can tell what is worth sending. Re-submitting the form replaces your stored preferences with the new ones. Unsubscribing stops everything, and you can ask us to delete your record entirely. The signup form is protected by a human-verification check, which may set a strictly necessary cookie of its own.
Third parties: embeds and payments
Some posts embed video or social players (YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram, X, Loom). Opening such a page connects your browser to that platform under its own policy. Support links go to payment providers’ own pages; card details go directly to them and we never see or store them.
Who touches the data#
The site runs through a content-delivery and security network, and we use a cookieless analytics service, a simple view-counter service, an email delivery provider, and hosting providers. Each processes data only on our instructions, for the purposes above. Beyond that, we disclose data only if the law requires it.
Your rights#
Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar) you can request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction, and you can object to processing. We do not “sell” or “share” personal data as the CCPA defines those terms, so there is nothing to opt out of, and Global Privacy Control signals are honored accordingly. Email [email protected] to exercise any right; EU/UK residents may also complain to their supervisory authority.
The fine print (legal bases, children, changes)
Where GDPR applies, email alerts run on your consent (withdrawable by unsubscribing); server logs, anti-abuse, and aggregate analytics run on our legitimate interest in operating a secure, working site, implemented in the least invasive way we know how.
The site is a general-audience technical resource, not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
When practices change we update this page and its date; significant changes to how subscriber data is handled are also announced to the News list.
